Senior Thesis BFA Communication Design, Parsons the New School for Design June 2012 - May 2013

My senior thesis for the CDT program at Parsons was a toolkit to help teenagers learn design for social change. In Fall 2012, I explored my interests in design and learning and developed the initial concept for the project. I researched extensively in learning and teaching methodologies, spoke with experts, and designed and built a few prototypes, shown above and refined what exactly I wanted the work to be. Over the winter break, I collected what I had learned about learning and design and wrote the content for the project, which ended up being about 15 pages of exercises, lessons, and tidbits of information to include. In Spring 2013, I turned this written content into a series of 12 booklets, meant to be implemented in an art/design or social studies curriculum in schools or after-school programs.
